It was a bit overcast when we arrived at the Dauntless Fire station. Several firemen assisted us in unloading the truck. They showed us to our table and in a short time we were set up and ready to sell.
Shortly after we were set up it started to rain…We took advantage of the slow time and visited with other wineries.
It didn’t take long before people started filing in to taste Wine. There were seven wineries present: Montgomery Underground Winery, Raspberry Acres, Eagle Rock, Oak Springs, Walnut Hill, Plum Run, and Starr Hill.
Also present was Mid’s Chocolate a native of Ebensburg. They were across from us which worked out great. You see, Mid’s “Grape Pod” shaped (milk & dark) chocolate samples went perfect with our Sour Cherry Wine. Just like biting into a cherry cordial…yummy!

Aren't they cute...

I am being told that elderberries have 2 times the VIT A as carrots. Really???
Steven,
I’m not sure if it has twice the amount of vitamin A as carrots, but it is a very good source of antioxidants. They in turn can shorten the cold or flu symptoms as well as boost up your immune system. They are very high in vitamin C and also potassium. We personally have experienced these beneficial effects from the wine as well as the berry. (We are currently out of our Elderberry Wine.)
Also as a side note, the elder leaves used fresh or dried can be made into a sashay and place in your pocket, shoe, where ever and it helps with galleds. (it’s like diaper rash) Very effective. In most herbal books the Elder plant is referred to as “Nature’s Medicine Cabinet”. We are big fans of the entire Elder plant. Thank you for visiting our web page, and remember your always welcome to visit us at one of our 2 locations…Della
Thanks for coming to the Dauntless Fire Fest
